More to See
As you can see, we rolled out a new design for the home page of The Daily Reel. We want to make it even more obvious that The Daily Reel is where you can come to find the best videos, the most talented creators and the videos that people will be talking about. With more than 250,000 videos being uploaded everday to the various hosting sites on the internet, we strive to find the videos that are worth watching - helping you to connect with the content creators. In the six months or so that we have been live, we have discovered some great material and some very talented content creators. We're also proud to point out that some of these creators have been discovered further and found deals, agents and work. This world of online video continues to evolve at breakneck speed. We look forward to helping you to make sense of it. Over the next few weeks, we'll be rolling out some new sections that will make it even easier to find good material and connect with the content creators.
Daily Reel Gets It Retreat On
For a whole 8-hour workday, we holed up in Chateau Marmont to brainstorm, innovate, and pound shots of Patron.
Jeff tells us what's up.
Jamie and Delyle at the round table.
Spence and Michelle and PATRON!

I'll Have Whatever She's Having
Every once in a while, I'll hear someone break out in spontaneous laughter in what is otherwise a reasonably quiet office. It is a little shocking - kind of in the same way as when someone is singing along with their iPod in a public place. Today, Spencer is howling in the office at some video that he has discovered. I poked my head out and he's watching something on his computer with his headphones on and he's going nuts. Generally, what happens next is that this howling becomes contagious and moves from one desk to another as he passes it along to the rest of the staff — just like the sound of the dogs barking in my neighborhood.
Anyway, whenever this happens, I am immediately reminded of the scene at the deli in When Harry Met Sally when Meg Ryan is faking an extremely loud orgasm and the woman at the next table tells the waitress, "I'll have whatever she's having."
In this case, I can't wait to see what Spencer was watching. I'm sure it will be up on the site in the next 10 minutes.
TDR Managing Editor Also Now Viral Star
As someone who gets ten hours a day of pure unfiltered Alexandra Delyle, I feel sorry for you people who only have access to these eight minutes of interview, courtesy of The LAist. But beggers can't be choosers, I suppose.
In this rare video interview, Alex does a great job of explaining what we do and what we're about -- even getting in a plug for ReeledIn, our extremely exciting upcoming feature. If you're a Daily Reel loyalist, most of this is probably stuff you already knew about. But did you before have the pleasure of Alex telling you personally? Probably not.
