Incredible Walking Scene

Werckmeister Harmonies is an incredible film by Hungarian filmmaker Bela Tarr.

My favorite part was this walking scene which I have tried to describe to people without much success.

Me: There is these two guys see, and they walking for like a minute and half, and nothing happens. Nothing. But it is full of tension, full of some sort of strange chemistry. The Nephew looks at his Uncle sometimes. The Uncle has his hand on his hat in a very tradional way. The wind blows but it is so hypnotic. You can tell the actors kinda got lost in their heads. You as the audience get lost in the rythmn of the feet, the clicking sound of the Uncle’s cane. You see what I am saying?

Listener: So they are just walking?

The film is actually available on Netflix. And it is being shipped to me as I speak. It is a long movie, something that should be seen at a movie theater but...watch this clip.

Good taste

This scene is beautiful. I love the pacing and the sound of their feet as they walk in unison. It makes me wonder where they are walking to or why they have no words to share.
