Wacko Jacko Comes Out of Hiding
This must be the week the crazies come out of the woodwork-- first the big OJ book/interview scandal and what could top that? Oh, the other crazy man from SoCal with a not-so-clean criminal record: Mr. Michael Jackson (or, as he is known around the TDR offices and most of America "Wack-o Jack-o").
Jack-o staged his big come-back performance this week at the World Music Awards. From what I hear, and from what we can see on the video, all kinds of poor decisions were made. A chorus of small children seems to be, oh, I don't know... marginally inappropriate for Mr. Jackson.
But really, weren't the parents of these children a little worried when they found out who the kiddies would sing back up for? Who okayed this plan? Not to mention, his stage presence leaves a little to be desired. And the jacket throwing? Gawd...
Really though, I shouldn't be surprised. This is just one last nail in the post-Thriller Jackson era. Do you remember Thriller!? That was a GREAT record, and of course the video was pretty pimp too. This is the Michael I choose to remember-- back when pop was you know... different, classy, better.
