Aaron Yonda and Matt Sloan, creators of the popular comic webisodic series "Chad Vader" are the latest Internet filmmakers to parlay their online popularity into offline success.

"Chad Vader" Creators Latest Online Talents to Crossover

According to the Associated Press, the two Wisconsin-based writer-directors have quit their jobs and negotiated a contract with a major media company (that they won't name yet).

The videos, which follow the misadventures of Chad, the younger brother of the evil jedi Darth Vader, have been seen over 9 million times on sites such as YouTube, MySpace and other websites. Their YouTube channel is currently the 19th most-subscribed of all time. Sloan, 33, who does the Vader impersonation, was even hired by LucasArts to record Darth's voice for a new video game, according to the AP.

The Daily Reel "Top Ten" alumni are represented by the William Morris Agency, and have seen their work broadcast on the Los Angeles-based Channel 101 and have a couple of completed television pilots ready to go ("The Splu Urtaf Show," based on their own Madison public-access show, and "TV Snack Pouch"). The duo write, direct, edit and act in all their material, and have been co-creating films since 2001 as Blame Society Productions -- their website is also pushing DVDs of the series, as well as ringtones.

Yonda and Sloan told the AP they plan to do two more episodes to finish the "first season" of "Chad Vader," and then plan to make a second eight-episode season.
