Current TV: Will Pay for Content
Current TV wants you. The 1-year-old network and website co-founded by Al Gore is looking for short video documentaries – and they could pay you $10,000 for it.
Part of its "Seeds of Tolerance" initiative,
the company is seeking videos that address issues of tolerance and diversity.
Judged by a celebrity panel (Paul Haggis, Edward Norton, Melissa Etheridge,
Margaret Cho, etc.), the grand prizewinner will receive a $100,000 check
(there's also two $10,000 runner-up awards).
Films should be roughly 3-5 minutes in length, in line with Current's 3-5 minute "pods," but they'll accept films up to 10 minutes long. All submissions are also eligible for a broadcast deal with compensation. The deadline is October 2, so hurry up and submit, because you'll never get a crack at this much cash on YouTube or Grouper.
As of this week, contributors can upload submissions at www.current.tv/tolerance.
