Next New Networks Inks Deal With JETSET
In its first such licensing deal, Next New will begin cross-promoting and selling ads for the popular vlog created by Zadi Diaz and Steve Woolf. Tim Shey, one of NNN's founders, told TDR that the deal wouldn't change anything about JETSET for the time being, but would give it added promotional support. "It's going to help them expand the vision for the show, and we're planning to build a network around the show," he said.
An article in NewTeeVee says that Smashface Productions (Diaz and Woolf's company) will continue to own and distribute JETSET as it does now while NNN will focus on monetizing the show. Woolf was quoted as saying that the deal would free he and Diaz to focus more on the creative side of the show.
“It’s about finding a way to make money, not to put a point on it,” added Woolf. “It’s not our forte to go out doing ad sales. We want to make shows, build a team, and run a production company. This gives us breathing room and takes a lot of weight off our shoulders.”
The show is viewed approximately 30,000 times each day via various distribution platforms, with smaller clips also available through Tagged.
