A new “health studio” is taking a viral approach to raising awareness. Realizing that “communicating about health-related topics has rarely been defined as a day at the movies,” Incendia Health Studios is committed to changing the way people think about health.

Instead of rattling off statistics or reusing clinical stock photos, Incendia spreads news and knowledge by using “the power of Web-based animation — through living, breathing stories designed to engage users and spur action.”

I recently saw the third episode of “Live With It”, Incendia’s animated series about HIV-positive life. After being drawn in by its unique style (a fast-paced graphic novel) and compelling storyline (about Bobbie Gaines, a model-turned-heroin-addict-turned-HIV-patient), I was forced to take a moment and recognize the gravity of a condition that affects millions everyday. It’s easy to toss aside the pamphlet on the end table of your doctor’s office, or ignore a poster at the bus stop, but "Live With It" is actually engaging.

Incendia Health Studios is the first and only purpose-driven media company that focuses on spreading knowledge and tolerance via viral disease education. By combining "original animated storytelling and online community tools, "Live With It" is a fresh approach to interactive health communications.”
