vMix Inks Deal With NBC
The online video service has announced that it has partnered with the GE-owned television network to create an online NBC channel that will run promo clips from hit series like "Heroes." vMix claims its tools, which allow users to send messages and leave comments, let media companies to keep close tabs on copyrighted content.
According to Reuters, NBC already has a promotional deal with YouTube, but doesn't have any broader content distribution agreements, perhaps because media executives aren't particularly happy with the Google-owned site's lax filtering system
"You don't want PrettyBoy13 in Des Moines putting up a clip people are talking about, and NBC has no idea what's going on," Greg Kostello, vMix chief executive, said in an interview.
