YouTube As Political Tool
The power of YouTube continues to grow. Not only is the massive video-sharing site a place where new talents unveil their wares and big-scale marketers push their products, it's also where politicians lose their credibility.
The New York Times reports that a Virginia Republican was caught on tape
making a racial slur, while a slew of Joseph Lieberman clips appearing
on YouTube portray the Democratic candidate as "lame" and pro-Bush (there's even a Avril Lavigne scored anti-Lieberman mashup music video).
Could YouTube change the political landscape in the mid-term elections?
As the story warns politicians, they are being watched -- and
downloaded: "Beware, the next stupid thing you say may be on
YouTube." Check out embattled Republcan Rick Santorum desparately
trying to save his ass on Imus.
