In an article published on Tuesday, the Associated Press' Jake Coyle makes a prediction: the huge success of FunnyOrDie.com's video short "The Landlord," starring Will Ferrell, his partner Adam McKay, and Pearl, McKay's drunk toddler daughter, will stand as a watershed moment in the evolution of online video. "As millions flocked to see the video on FunnyOrDie.com or YouTube.com, it was clear that something had changed in online video: The pros had arrived," writes Coyle. (Coverage of "The Landlord" has appeared countless mainstream publications, but nothing can compete with this fake interview Pearl gave to People.com.)

Coyle has a point, because the "The Landlord" wasn't simply a one-off lark. FunnyOrDie is funded by v.c. powerhouse Seqoia Capital and co-created by uber-agency CAA. "The Evolution of Dance" guy may have been seen more than 50,000 times, but he definitely doesn't have those guys catching his back.

Coyle then goes on to list the other big-name comics who have been setting their sights on the Web, including Dane Cook, SNL's Chris Parnell and Tim Meadows, Bob Odenkirk, and Tom Green.
