Studio 8 Entertainment: Studio 8's Heroes Season 2 Promo for Super Deluxe

Categories: Online Video TV

I teamed up with Studio 8 Entertainment and Secret Fun Time to direct a parody promo of Heroes for Manifest Destinyfest, a new series on Turner's comedy site Super Deluxe. The comedy promo, written by Brock LaBorde, was released in anticipation of the Heroes Season 2 premiere this Monday, September 24 on NBC.

Last season Heroes introduced you to the largest ensemble cast ever assembled on national TV. This season the cast grows even larger as a new group of Heroes is called forth to use their mind blowing powers.

From the Super Deluxe site:
"They thought they were like everyone else. Until they realized they have
incredible abilities...facilitated by a lot of crappy TV post-production."

Really racist? Really funny? Both? I'll leave it you to decide that when it comes to comedian Ari Shaffir's series of videos as his alter-ego, The Amazing Racist. If nothing else, his videos are definitely the kind of stuff that is sure to spark a lot of conversation (read: race riots).

So here's the project: to create a matrix of windows that contain live video from around the planet (or even off-planet). The video will be environmental, observational, low key, discreet. Each window will be synchronized (by extracting IRIG or SMPTE timecode from GPS) with the others. The aggregate effect will be an illustration of concurrent natural processes, from which the viewers may (or may not!) infer something about interconnectedness.
