Anna Nicole Smith, 39, Found Dead

Filed Under:

A woman of many ups and downs, Anna Nicole Smith was the Marilyn Monroe of our generation--even in her death. Earlier this afternoon, the former Playmate was found unresponsive in her hotel room in Hollywood, Florida. Pronounced dead upon her arrival to Memorial Regional Hospital, her cause of death is still unknown.

As a new mom who was still in her prime, the news of Anna Nicole's sudden death caught many of us off guard. To lose such a young and well-known personality is a tragedy, yet many are busy placing bets on her autopsy results. Regardless of the cause of her death, I think that it's important to celebrate Anna's life and cultural impact.

Anna Nicole Smith was as a woman of fame and media excess. Known for her folds in Playboy, Anna Nicole was the spokesmodel for TrimSpa and Guess Jeans, and also starred in the high-profile reality program, The Anna Nicole Smith Show. Leaving herself exposed to very public lifestyle, Anna Nicole suffered over a decade of legal problems, controversy, and alleged substance abuse.

To pay tribute to the sex symbol turned reality star, I would like to share this video clip, starring Anna Nicole herself. I think this video of the former Playmate is a perfect example of the excessive and sultry persona that was, and still is, Anna Nicole Smith.

Am I the only one saddened

Anna's death is a testament to the sentivity of life. Behind all of the glitz and glam she was a woman coping with the loss of her son and beginning to raise the next one. I am deeply saddened, she was almost naive.

I don't really know much about her. But I know her son died recently and I don't think they ever figured out why he died. I think it's really sad she died too. I also think its a shame that tomorrow it will be all over all the tabloid newspapers and they will be saying it was drugs or something. I think that's an insult to her memory.

bless anna nicole. i send all my love to her soul

Sometimes a mother's grief and guilt can be unsermountable. I'm sure the loss of her son had a lot to do with her mental balance and her ability to pull her life together. Altough losing a life isn't an easy thing, hopefully she was taken quickly without any pain. My prayers are with Nicole and her son and may he grow up to be a strong successful man and than she could have hoped for. From one mother to another, I feel your pain and loss.

I don't care what anyone says about Anna Nicole she was a vibrant person and had feelings like most of us do. It's another sad loss to the world.I know she's in a better place with her son.

I hope that everyone who was surrounded in portraying Anna Nicole's controversy are now very ashamed of themselves. She LOST A SON and everyone in the media such as Entertainment Tonight, The Insider, and all other celebrity gossip trash have exacerbated any of the sorrows that she had experienced. Such insensitivity is a very good cause as to what catapulted her into a very extreme state. Why didn't the people who supposedly loved her intervene and get her the rehab treatment that she obviously needed??? Why did so many people go to such extreme and drastic measures just to get an extra million or two dollars. It's ridiculous to think that money is more important than life. I hope that everyone learns something from this. I don't think she was a stand-up citizen and she obviously had some flaws, but she was someone that you hoped would finally overcome her misery and tragedy. Everyone is being so cold in regard to her death. She DID NOT deserve to die just because she was eccentric and had a controversial life. Everyone is so quick to judge and that is what chipped away at her life little by little until she had no dignity or sense of self to hold on to. Shame on everyone.
