Obama Makes It Official
So here we go, with the Obama '08 campaign. And in his announcement speech, in the shadow of the Old State Capital in Springfield, IL (where Lincoln told the nation that a house divided cannot stand), it's clear that he's running for real.
Admitting that as a one-term senator, his decision to run is more than a little "audacious," Obama nonetheless demonstrates his readiness for higher office. With his proven talent for rhetoric, Obama rocks the mike right with talk of health care reform, curbing greenhouse gas emissions, and developing a smarter, stronger military. "Let's be the generation that makes future generations proud of what we did here." Preach it, brother.
