Ichiro Slaps Inside-The-Park Homerun
Say what you will about Major League Baseball's All-Star game -- the fact that it's ridiculous to have an exhibition decide home field advantage in the World Series, the color commentators desperately trying to connect with disenfranchised youth by making forced references to the movie 300, cutting away to slugger Eric Byrnes playing with his bulldog in McCovey Cove (baseball at it's most riveting). All valid reasons to dismiss the event. However, there's no denying the spectacle of an inside-the-park homerun. Especially when it comes off the bat of Seattle Mariners hit-machine Ichiro Suzuki, who rounded the bases in about 2.3 seconds after smacking a pitch to deep right-center. It's the rarest of rarities in baseball and the game's eventual MVP was the first to ever do it in All-Star history.
So, really, this video is pretty special. It covers the full spectrum of baseball from its mundane lows to its electrifying highs. All with one swing of the bat.
