Verlander throws a no-no
"Regular season baseball? What the crap is this doing here?" you ask. Well, I'll tell you: Justin Verlander was hurling 102 mph heaters in the 9th inning en route to no-hitting the potent Milwaukee Brewers. 102 in the 9th? That's obscene! And to think that Verlander is only 24 and just midway through his second season in the bigs. Already, he's displayed dominance on the mound against virtually every opponent, but now, with this no-hitter, Verlander's leapt over the proverbial wall of potential and into the ranks of stardom.
This dominant 9th inning, coupled with a raucous Detroit crowd giddy over witnessing history, crystalizes why baseball once held the mantle of America’s national sport. The atmosphere is electric.
To anyone wondering where all the NBA Finals videos are: You're living in the wrong universe.
