Aniston Only Sorta Gay for Pay
Wow, talk about mountains and molehills. When the raunchy FX soap Dirt announced that Jennifer Aniston would be guest-starring as Courtney Cox's lady-loving rival, rumors abounded about the sort of lesbian antics that would ensue.
However, this brief lip peck between the two former Friends is hardly worth the attention being paid by YouTube's most-watched page -- I saw my grandparents swap more tongue than that. Watching people kiss is only hot when the people involved are into each other and not into the paycheck they're receiving for saliva-sharing.
Given this and Aniston's other ratings-grabbing underwhelming girl-kiss, it's official -- no other actress gives less value for your Gay for Pay dollar.

The Simpsons Shows Signs of Evolution
Like many people, I drifted away from The Simpsons during its legendary rough patch. You know, seasons 11 through 18. Once the gold standard of comedy, references to America's Favorite Funny Family now feel dated and stale -- much like the actual show's writing.
Recently, though, rumors abound that The Simpsons have reclaimed some measure of its former glory. I don't know how true that is -- but this clip from Sunday's new episode, featuring the most elaborate couch gag ever, is pretty convincing. Tracking the evolution of the Homer from amoeba to man, it's both a delightful snubbing of Creationist theory and a fresh approach to one of the show's most belabored traditions.
Good stuff, Simpsons. Keep it up, and maybe we'll think about this summer.

Peyton Manning Reaches Out To America's Youth
You never know which Mondays are going to be SNL Mondays. The quality of the guest host or musical guest is sometimes a factor, but more often than not the elements that lead to NBC dominating the YouTube Most Viewed page are pretty random.
Today is definitely an SNL Monday, and my best guess as to why Peyton Manning's comedy hijinks are so popular is that the Super Bowl MVP Ubergod seems more than willing to spoof his public image. (Oh, and it's been a few weeks since the last new epsiode.)
Take this United Way spoof, which is the funniest thing I've seen in days. Not that I'm into child abuse -- it's just that children suffering physical and verbal assault is hilarious. When Peyton Manning teaches you about life, the lessons are scary indeed.

Demetri Martin On YouTube, On YouTube
So, I guess it's official: Demetri Martin is the voice of our generation. Wait. How'd that happen? Was there a memo? A poll on Gawker? Some kind of email forward? I should probably check my spam filter...
Anyways, this very funny take on the Viacom-YouTube lawsuit does actually cover the basic concepts of the situation. Namely, that this is a power scrabble between two multinational conglomerates over who controls the eyeballs of punk kids -- punk kids who no matter what will figure out a way to keep stealing media.
So please enjoy this YouTube clip. Don't whine about it, Daily Show. You can't say you didn't see it coming.
UPDATE: The Demitri Martin clip has been removed from YouTube but is still available on the Viacom owned iFilm.
UPDATE: The clip has its embed feature disabled. Meaning: the clip is only available on the iFilms site, Comedy Central's website, and of course a Tivo near you.
