Paul Potts Wows Again In Semi-Finals

Liz Miller
Posted June 15, 2007

When opera sensation (for real) Paul Potts advanced to the semi-finals of Britain's Got Talent, based on his tear-enducing performance of "Nessun Dorma," his future prospects depended on him living up to that gold standard. No worries, though: his rendition of "Time to Say Goodbye" during last night's semi-finals is just as flawless and heartfelt.

In case you were wondering, America, the winner of Britain's Got Talent not only wins a cash prize, but will also perform for the Queen at the Royal Variety Performance. So if you ask any of us here at The Daily Reel, if anyone deserves the chance to show Her Majesty his stuff, it's this humble salesman from South Wales.

EDITED SUNDAY: Congratulations, Signore Potts, on your victory! Very well-deserved.

On the contrary my fine fetter friend. I heard Bocelli's nessum dorma and the personal touch of is not their. Bocelli is more mechanical like Pavarotti. With the culture of rebellion that now exist in the world, Paul Potts is a God sent for this time. We long for peace of mind and Paul Potts is here for that purpose.

Why compare them? It is not a contest between opera stars. It is one man that no one had any expectations of coming through and deeply touching the masses simply by opening his mouth and singing a stanza from an opera. Don't feel you have to protect the established stars or opera as a whole. Just take Paul in and enjoy the moment. It is worth it!

Paul Potts is very, very good........however, he has a long way
to go to be in the same class as ANDREA BOCELLI. I was wondering
if ANDREA BOCELLI has heard Paul Potts sing, & if the great tenor
would help Paul by giving a few lessons..............?

I have never been as touched as I am by Paul Potts. I watch the video over and over last night until 1:30 a.m. I switched to hear Pavarotti sing Nessun Dorma and even though his voice is stronger, Paul brought more emotion to the song. I would love to hear him in a live concert. AMAZING!!!!

If all singers were as long winded as you they could hold notes for a week.
