Paul Potts Wins BRITAIN'S GOT TALENT
After Paul Potts reprised his stirring rendition of "Nessun Dorma" in Sunday night's final episode of Britain's Got Talent, host Ant (or Dec -- I get them confused) announced that all of Britian had gone "Paul Potts Potty." But you stand corrected, Mr. Dec (or Ant): it's the entire world that's watching.
Congratulations, Signore Potts, on your victory, which includes a record contract and live performance before the Queen. Bravissimo.
Don't loose your humbleness... That (and your voice, of course) is what makes you special.

Anyone that can bring most of the world to tears with their singing is not just someone who "could very well win BGT"..as Piers said. Those who witnessed "Nessun Dorma" on that particular night, will forever remember that special moment and can say "I was there to see a star born". He will go on to become the most famous singer since Caruso and Pavarotti...there's no doubt in my mind.
Not mentioning the back story about performing amateur opera
means nothing; takes away NOTHING from the magnificence of his voice. If there's one thing in this world that I hate, it's someone always dissecting an event, person or thing. Nothing "JUST IS" any longer. There always has to be a footnote. Well Paul Pott's footnote should never be anything but "possibly the greatest voice since Caruso". I think Pavarotti should be quaking in his boots at the moment.
Paul Potts has trained. So what. He has never had the music industry truly acknowledge his talents and has remained at the semi-pro level until now. Did you watch his audition performance? I mean really watch? Did you watch his eyes? I don't know where Paul Potts goes when he sings, but he made my husband and I want to go there too. You can allude to the "hype" all you want, but you can't deny the powerful charisma Paul has when he sings with such passion. No hype can create that. Paul has a beautiful gift and all his life he has felt average or less than because he was "different". This is Paul's time to share his gift with the world and the talent show was just the vehicle. And personally, I'm glad my husband and I caught that bus as it was going by. Congratulations Paul! We anxiously await your first music release. Californians are going Potty for Potts too!
