So, I guess it's official: Demetri Martin is the voice of our generation. Wait. How'd that happen? Was there a memo? A poll on Gawker? Some kind of email forward? I should probably check my spam filter...
Anyways, this very funny take on the Viacom-YouTube lawsuit does actually cover the basic concepts of the situation. Namely, that this is a power scrabble between two multinational conglomerates over who controls the eyeballs of punk kids -- punk kids who no matter what will figure out a way to keep stealing media.
So please enjoy this YouTube clip. Don't whine about it, Daily Show. You can't say you didn't see it coming.
UPDATE: The Demitri Martin clip has been removed from YouTube but is still available on the Viacom owned iFilm.
UPDATE: The clip has its embed feature disabled. Meaning: the clip is only available on the iFilms site, Comedy Central's website, and of course a Tivo near you.
