Lauren Jones Is No Anchorwoman, Says Fox
Who would have known that putting a bikini model and former WWE wrestler behind the desk of a local news program would be a bad idea? Perhaps anyone who actually watched this promotion for Anchorwoman. Playing on revolutionary comedy concepts like "women aren't very bright!" and "blonds are even less intelligent!", this Fox reality series aired only one episode (this Wednesday) before being canceled (this Thursday). Sorry, Lauren. But we won't even have the memories.

CNN Windbag Too Good for Lohan?
I might be new to the world of journalism, but I don't get this attitude our nation's reporters have against covering the news. If the American people are interested in finding out more about Lindsay Lohan's arrest, then that's what they want, and Jack Cafferty should suck it up and read the teleprompter. How much does he get paid to do that, anyways? Because hey, CNN, look me up. I'm way cheaper.

Drew Carey Says "The Price is Right"
It's not often that television beats the Internet to breaking a story. But Late Show With David Letterman had a distinct edge -- Drew Carey was waiting in the wings for his interview when he got the call confirming his new gig as host of The Price is Right.
Drew Carey has always seemed a little... how best to put this... dickish? So it's hard to tell what kind of change this will mean for that most genial of game shows. But perhaps a nice steady daytime gig will be just what he needs to settle down -- and keep his Bergdorf's-bound girlfriend happy.

Does Fox News Have Reefer Madness?
From LiberalViewer, perhaps YouTube's most vocal critic of FOX News, comes this scathing look at a July 13 broadcast about "drug lords turning suburban homes into pot growhouses" in Miami's gated communities. LiberalViewer accuses FOX News of using sensationalistic scare tactics that play fast and loose with the truth -- for instance, the unnamed DEA agent who claims that this new uber-strong "dope on steroids" "will kill you."
Now, we don't hear the entire broadcast here, so it's possible we missed the citation of numerous marijuana OD deaths sweeping the Miami area. However, as the FOX broadcast claims that the new strain is three times as strong, which comes well under the estimated 20,000 - 40,000 times the normal dose that studies have estimated would constitute lethal use.
So, yeah. Thanks for the warning, FOX, but I don't think I'll be losing sleep over the killer pot just yet.
