Danny Devito's "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" Contract
The first season of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia (DVD available now!) was one of the funniest things I've ever seen -- a blend of awkward and offensive, culminating in a perfect comedy stew. And somehow, FX managed to improve upon the formula in the second season by adding the not inconsiderable talents of Danny Devito to the cast.
How to keep a good thing going? Well, keep Danny Devito around for the third season, of course. But Danny Devito is a star. Danny Devito deserves the best treatment. You want Danny Devito on your dinky little cable sitcom, you better treat him right. That's what Rob McElhenney learns here, with the help of Rhea Perlman and Fred Savage. He also learns to read his contract better. All of thesse are important lessons.

Kojima's Boot Camp: Get Fit The Japanese Way!
Covering online video requires a certain level of sleuthiness -- you have to learn how to search, where to search, and what to do with that information when you find it. (It also helps to have an eclectic set of online buddies, one of whom is bound to know way more than you.) But congratulations, Kojima's Boot Camp -- you have me and my buddy list stumped. All we know is that the featured performer is a Japanese comedian named Yoshio Kojima (previously known for the superhero character Cyclone Z), and he is not afraid to flaunt what he's got.
I wouldn't have put so much energy into trying to figure out what's happening here, except that it seems like Japan is always one step ahead of America on a number of scores: karaoke, video games, Ken Watanabe. So are we looking at the future of aerobics here? The terrifying, terrifying future? Because no matter how many kanji translators I track down, I'll never be able to explain the packing tape on Kojima's chest.
