Awkward Pictures won in the semi-finals of the YouTube Sketchies contest thanks to this hilarious short, which sends up the online dating world in general and eHarmony in particular. Looking for a casual acquaintance, someone who cares about the same trivial crap as you? FriendBuddies is there for you.
Says Payman Benz of Awkward Pictures, "Those eHarmony commercials are really silly, and we've always wanted to do some sort of a parody, but not a straight-on parody." To capture the authentic feel of the ads, they took a subtle approach: "We noticed the CEO always does weird stuff with his hands, so we told our "CEO", Esteban Villenueva III (played by actor/filmmaker Greg Benson) to do weird things with his hands too."
Awkward Pictures advances to the finals with their newest sketch "Rodney and Zak." We wish them the best of luck, though they probably don't need it. What with the power of the pug on their side.

certain parts of friendbuddies were really spot-on with how they were done though. you're really not supposed to shake hands the first way shown? maybe i better subscribe to friendbuddies!
