The Outlaw Son

To say that this low-fi short takes its time unraveling would be an understatement. The silent, sullen teens, the well-positioned iPod, the perpetual rain -- everything in "The Outlaw Son" builds slowly and assuredly, and the patient viewer will be rewarded.

Nice bit of contemplative cinema. Congratulations on a job well done.

Lovely piece of film, which makes me wonder whether the director is the same one, he of CVB, then later Cracker. If not, then, it doesn't matter, for this one's just as talented. This piece brings to mind the work of Ming-liang Tsai, such as two of his films: "Vive L'Amour" and "Good-bye, Dragon Inn".
